Over the past 2 years, we have watched helplessly as our nation's southern border was taken over and is now owned and operated by drug cartels. With a complicit administration, Joe Biden has allowed these cartels to smuggle humans and fentanyl across our border with virtual impunity. But Biden hasn’t acted alone; he has Congresswoman Katherine Clark and fellow Democratic members of Congress to thank. We all have Clark and Biden to thank for the deaths of over 100,000 Americans due to fentanyl poisoning last year. Upwards of ninety-five (95) % of the fentanyl enters the United States via our southern border, and Massachusetts families are suffering from the loss of their loved ones and the sharp increase in crime.
Middlesex County has an especially high number of opioid deaths, more than twice the national average. Congresswoman Clark may think that it is humane to keep our southern border wide open, but nothing could be farther from the truth. The drug cartels that operate the southern border are causing untold suffering to women and children with 31% percent of society's most vulnerable being assaulted as they cross illegally into the U.S. Human beings who are transported by smugglers become ransom pieces.
